Maximizing the potential of gifted students presents a challenge to educators
and parents. At A Gifted Child Center for Evaluation and Therapy, the concerns
of gifted students and their families are our priority. We also want to bring
together experts and professionals who serve the gifted child, so we may help
and learn from one another.
HOLLINGWORTH CENTER FOR HIGHLY GIFTED CHILDREN
www.hollingworth.org
The Hollingworth Center is a national support and resource network focused
on the needs of highly gifted children. A non-profit corporation, staffed
by volunteers, the Center was founded in central Maine in 1983 by Kathi Kearney
as a parent support group, in the belief that highly gifted children and their
families need not feel isolated. The Center primarily serves as a clearinghouse
of information and events concerning the needs of highly gifted children.
THE NATIONAL FOUNDATION FOR GIFTED AND CREATIVE CHILDREN
www.nfgcc.org
The National Foundation for Gifted and Creative Children was formed over 30
years ago. The main goal of The Foundation was to get much needed information
to the parents of gifted children. The need is still there. Many gifted children
are being destroyed in the public education system. Many gifted children are
being falsely labeled with ADD as well as ADHD. And many parents are unaware
their child/children could be potentially gifted. The Foundation's main objective
is to reach out and help these precious children. The National Foundation
for Gifted and Creative Children is a non-profit, non-sectarian, organization.
